SUGAR ARMY ON TOUR... AGAIN

Having spent more time on the road then in their own beds this year, Sugar Army are in the midst of a WA regional tour next week as part of the Something In The Water travelling show, which involves a screening of the local music documentary followed by a performance by the band in Bunbury, Margaret River, Bridgetown and Esperance over the next week.

Following this, Sugar Army will headline their last show in Perth for 2 months on Saturday August 2 at Amplifier (with special guests Streetlight, Panama and These Shipwrecks) before heading out on a massive 35 date, 6 week national tour with Gyroscope and Shihad. The band will then knuckle down and continue work on their debut album.

HOOPER'S STORE LAUNCH DEBUT EP

A long time Rockus favourite - Hooper's Store will launch their much anticipated debut EP 'When Was The Plasticine Era' on Friday August 1 at one of their favourite stomping grounds, the Hyde Park Hotel.

Influenced by acts as diverse as Don Caballero, American Football and Battles, the group strives for uniqueness in their sound, using time signature variation and general riff ingenuity to impressive effect. The lack of a vocalist might be counted by some as a weakness, but the band turns it to their favour: their music is cohesive to a rare extent and the feel it seeks to create is not something to which words can be easily put.

If you value inventiveness over staid rock sounds then Hooper’s Store have much to offer.
